1. Mockshi was was invented pretty much for plot convenience in a roleplay I did once. The main character I was using for the roleplay (chester) was dumb and got bitten by a venomous creature I invented on the spot, and my friend's character, Elijah, needed a medic to give him the antidote. Mockshi appeared for about two seconds and cured Chester, and that was it. But something about her and the setting I put her in appealed to me, so I later brought her back as a main character in a separate roleplay and began to flesh out her character and backstory.

2. Mockshi looks like a catgirl with weird tattoos, but she's actually a mimick. The cat features were something she added on to her basic form to match one of her best friends (one of her strongest bonds) when she was younger.

3. Mockshi worked in a realm circus when she was younger with another mimick and the catgirl I mentioned above. I'm still unsure how she ended up there, as realm circuses have a tendency to turn dark rather suddenly and it's not exactly a stable profession, but I'm sure she had her reasons. 

4. Mockshi is the only mimick I've created who has completely lost all ability to morph. She traded away her shifting powers in exchange for a random set of powers she was told could possibly help her save her friend (the catgirl) from death. These powers included a forcefield-like power that was difficult to use and drained her energy rapidly, along with one or two other things I've forgotten now. She was unable to save her friend, unfortunately, and was left without her morphing and with useless powers in their place.

5. Most Mimicks have a tendency towards playfulness and mischievousness. Often they don't take things seriously like others do, and usually cause trouble by default because they think it's funny (unless it's related to one of their strongest bonds). Because of their morphing, they're often difficult to find and get rid of, and are generally considered to be pests wherever they go. (I've often lovingly called them the cockroaches of their universe.) Mockshi is not like this. Maybe she was always that way, or maybe it was a choice, but either way Mockshi is rather cold and no-nonsense. Even towards Noni she's not especially loving outwardly. She shows affection more through her protectiveness and through quiet acts of service and gifts.

6. Mockshi's only strong bond now is to Noni, who is her apprentice/adopted daughter. Her old friend, Kitto (the other mimick from the circus), brought Noni to her as a baby and asked her to take care of her because he was an unfit parent (he was in the same situation as Mockshi and got screwed over by the same person/entity who gave her the useless powers in exchange for her morphing. He kept his morphing, but was forced to become the host of three other beings who can take control of him at random times. This makes him far too unstable to be able to raise a kid, of course). It has not been made clear whether Noni is Kitto's daughter or an orphan he took pity on but couldn't care for. Either way, Mockshi grew attached to her and is a devoted guardian and mentor in her own distant sort of way.

7. Mockshi's backstory was inspired almost entirely by a vocaloid song called Circus Monster. Specifically the version that's a duet between Luka and Kaito, because the duet version makes it sound like it's about two characters instead of one (Mockshi AND Kitto, rather than just Mockshi alone). If you're curious, here's a link to the specific video I'm talking about. 

Even the picture for this video inspired me, and actually had a role in the physical appearance of both Mockshi and Kitto. It might not be all that apparent, but I ended up giving them similar hairstyles to the Luka and Kaito in this particular image. And when I drew them both, I did it from pretty much the same angles as in the picture (you can go check my DA gallery to see if you want. just search 'mockshi' and it'll come up.)

8. Mockshi's name came from a japanese word I heard in another vocaloid song called Crime and Punishment. If you listen for it, it's the first two syllables you hear in the song. Noni, Kitto, and Samitto (catgirl) all have names derived from this song too, if you're listening closely for them. Might be fun to try and pick them out ^^
